? about sending from A Drive

Post by Mark Krutke »

On my dad's computer while in the A Drive, I use to bring up the area to send a picture from "File," and I could send that picture right to the e-mail, (by clicking on "Mail recipient") without dragging, cutting or pasting, but something happened to where the "Send" capability was taken off as the choices under the "File" column, along with "Mail Recipient". Does any body know how I could get this put back in?

Just a guess, but that feature may get installed as part of your email program. You might try re-installing your email program.

Would that mean going through the Internet Connection Wizard again? I have Windows 98.

I run Windows 2000 and can't really help you there. You might try Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs, and select Add/Remove Windows components. Outlook is part of Microsoft Office and Outlook Express is part of Internet Explorer.

Mark-- I'm running Windows95. The POWERTOYS from MicroSoft includes 'Send To' extensions which has the choices you mentioned. Sounds like you might have had some or all of the applets previously installed, but not now.

Do a 'FIND' for Powertoys.exe to see if the file is still on the hard drive. If not, you can download from :

That's for Win95, though. --Ev

Just checked and found another link with info about Powertoys which indicates the 'SendTo' extensions (and some of the other applets) work fine under Windows98.

They have a download link, also. --Ev
[This message was edited by Everett Cox on 01 February 2001 at 01:52 AM.]
