Re: Hot weather apparel question
Almost every lawn guy in Las Vegas wears a hooded sweatshirt and a straw hat all summer when it's over 100 degrees most every day. They say it keeps them cool.

You can sit there and enjoy that you are not bucking bales or operating a combine with a non working AC ,,,,

Re: Hot weather apparel question
I worked in our auto repair shop and started out without a T shirt but soon found out I did stay cooler wearing one as it absorbs moisture and any breeze or air movement seemed to evaporate it quicker. I was also more comfortable without that clammy over shirt material clinging to my skin. Yeah, no AC there either.
But...playing outdoors in hot weather, I load out and set up in a T with somebody or other's logo and just wear a shirt over that on stage. It might be short or long sleeved.
My Grandpas and all old farmers in my area always wore cotton undershirts and long sleeves buttoned all the way up. There must be a reason. I never saw my Grandpa O wear anything but long sleeves for any reason in any season.
My Grandpa D only wore short sleeves when he cleaned up for church, go to town or similar occasions.

Howler Brothers, Austin, TX, makes nice cool vented shirts for fishing the tropics—quite a few “western” styles too.
A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first.

Second howler brothers. Not cheap - keep your eye out for their seasonal sales.
